HELEN COUTTS AREINZ PROFILE
Helen has returned to Hawera making a lifestyle choice to return to the town she grew up in. Helen spent the first seventeen years of her life growing up in a large family, where Helen experienced every opportunity to participate in local clubs and sporting teams, learning the importance of team work, values, and a very strong work ethic, setting a solid platform for future opportunities in her life.
After completing her secondary education at Hawera High School she moved to Christchurch where she worked for an Importing Company. In 1974 Helen married and moved to Dunedin where her husband worked in the building industry.
In early 1980 Helen and her family moved to Auckland where they started their own commercial construction company.
Helen has two sons Ben and Allan both living in the USA.
Venturing out in a different direction Helen brought her own café, where she enjoyed interacting and building relationships with her customer's.
After selling her business Helen worked for Telecom for eight years as a Corporate Centre Team Manager, through the University of Waikato Helen completed papers on Self Management, People Management and completed courses on Managing for Performance, Team Leadership, Building Business cases through the NZ Institute of Business.
Helen's interests in property investment lead Helen to obtain the Real Estate Salesperson Certificate. Helen joined Selwyn Metcalfe Limited Property & Investment Consultants in the Property Management Division in 2005.
During 2006 Helen was successful in her application for the Taranaki Daily News scholarship to assist her to complete the Massey University Diploma of Business Studies (Real Estate). Helen completed six papers in 2007/08 to REINZ Branch Manager & Associate level. Helen moved in Residential Sales in 2007 and in 2008 Helen completed her Diploma in Business Studies (Real Estate).
